Lawson Racing
Bio: Paul Lawson has been a
racer for 16 years and, as any racer knows, you learn a lot
from trial and error on your own equipment. Paul gained much
of his experience in his garage building his own engines with
his friend Ken Kratzer, who is currently involved in the parts
retailing.
From there, his first job as an
engine machinist was for Bobby Jacks Racing Engines in Fort
Madison, IA. While there he built everything from sprint car
engines, to alcohol drag motors, to stock rebuilds.
After two years he went to West
Point Auto Supply where he built engines for the Carquest
store and had full use of the facility to build race engines.
In 2006 he moved into his
current facility conveniently located on pit road at Lee
County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa. There he has grown from
doing rebuilds for a few local stock and hobby stock drivers,
to a full service engine machine shop, chassis fabrication
shop, and performance parts retailer.
Paul prides himself on being
able to develop a complete engine program to suit your driving
style and budget.
